All under one roof...
The house we live in has this HUGE four car garage and workshop. We build the cages and house the rabbits all under one big roof!
This is my big brother Mikey and my Dad. They design and build my rabbit cages.
Bunny town homes...
24" x 24" double decker. 24" x 42" double decker, community houser.
Every thing we read said that the right size cage for a 6 pound bunny was 18" x 24". Well, when my Mom saw how small it was, she had a fit. She likes BIG houses, and was afraid the bunnies would not get enough exercise. So, my Dad came up with this idea of "bunny townhomes". These two story homes have a nesting box on the top floor with a ramp that leads down to the food and water. Most of our bunnies are litter box trained which really helps too! The roofs on the town homes lift up so you can clean or see inside. Here is the inside of the nesting box on Josephine's home. This is about a week after her kits were born. It was REALLY cold when they were born, so Dad installed a light bulb for added heat.
